Fathi Al-Jaghbeer, Chairman of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry, considered the election of Engineer Abdul Wahab Al-Rawad as President of the Arab Fertilizers Union (AFU) for the 2026–2027 term a clear indicator of the notable development in Jordan’s industrial sector, particularly the fertilizer industry, which is a cornerstone of the national industrial sector.

Al-Jaghbeer explained that the Board of Directors of the Jordan Chamber of Industry congratulates Engineer Al-Rawad on this prestigious position, affirming its full confidence in his ability to enhance the fertilizer industry across the Arab world, work on its development, and deepen integration and cooperation among Arab companies operating in this vital sector, thereby increasing productivity, efficiency, and fostering innovation and modern technology.
He noted that Engineer Al-Rawad represents Jordanian companies on the Board of the Arab Fertilizers Union and recently received the Union’s award for the Best Applied Scientific Research in the Arab World for 2023, reflecting his scientific and professional excellence in the field.
The Arab Fertilizers Union (AFU) is a non-governmental Arab international organization founded in 1975 under the umbrella of the Arab Economic Unity Council. It aims to promote cooperation and develop the fertilizer industry in Arab countries. The Union focuses on enhancing production, improving efficiency, expanding markets, and encouraging research, development, and the application of modern technology to ensure food security in the Arab region.
Engineer Al-Rawad’s election comes at a time when Arab efforts to advance the fertilizer industry and implement global best practices are accelerating, contributing to sustainable agriculture, achieving food security, and confirming the leading position of Jordan’s industry at the regional level.
