Minister Al-Kharabsheh stated that the committee approved a set of projects and sites to receive electricity under the Rural Electricity Fund, including residential clusters and economic activities, following the expansion of this service based on recent amendments to the fund’s guidelines for December 2025.

Engineer Hisham Al-Momani, Director of the Directorate of Electricity and Rural Electrification, explained that the approved projects include:

Residential clusters of 5 homes outside organized areas, costing 184,000 JD.

Clusters of at least 3 homes outside organized areas, costing 74,000 JD.

Individual homes outside organized areas connected to existing networks, at a cost of 41,000 JD.

Low-income households within organized areas under electricity company concessions, at a cost of 1,000 JD.

The fund also supported poultry, cattle, sheep, and fish farms in poverty pockets outside organized areas, totaling 28,000 JD, in line with the ministry’s goal of supporting farmers and promoting self-sufficiency.

Additionally, road lighting to cemeteries was funded at 10,000 JD to facilitate nighttime burials. Production, industrial, and investment projects in poverty pockets and outside organized areas were supported with 153,000 JD, provided they create job opportunities for local Jordanians.

The fund also supported farms with artesian wells outside organized areas at a cost of 12,000 JD, government and cooperative agricultural or charitable projects at 34,000 JD, and renewable energy initiatives:

Grid-connected solar systems for 21 homes of low-income families and National Aid Fund beneficiaries.

Off-grid solar system for one low-income household outside organized areas at 4,000 JD.

Solar-powered water pumping system for an artesian well at 12,000 JD.

These measures aim to expand electricity access, support low-income families, boost rural development, and enhance agricultural and productive sectors.
