A recent foreign trade report revealed that Jordan’s imports from non-Arab Asian markets accounted for more than 36% of the Kingdom’s total imports during the first nine months of this year.

The value of imports from these markets reached 5.439 billion dinars out of a total of 14.986 billion dinars, according to Al-Ghad.
In parallel, Jordan’s overall imports increased by 7% during the same period, compared to 14.012 billion dinars recorded in the corresponding period last year.
Official data also shows that imports from non-Arab Asian countries rose by 2%, with imports from China alone totaling 2.881 billion dinars.
Arab countries within the Greater Arab Free Trade Area ranked second among Jordan’s top trading partners, accounting for 27% of total imports by the end of September. Imports from these countries also increased by 7%, reaching 3.987 billion dinars, including 2.216 billion dinars from Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, the European Union ranked third, representing 16% of Jordan’s total imports at 2.350 billion dinars. Imports from Germany amounted to 502 million dinars.
Jordan’s imports from the EU rose by 10% in the first nine months of this year, compared to 2.143 billion dinars during the same period last year.
