China Instructs Refineries to Halt Oil Product Exports
China instructed its major oil refineries to suspend the export of petroleum products on Thursday, as the risk of an oil supply crisis grows due to the war in the Middle East.اضافة اعلان

China is one of the world's largest oil importers and is among several major Asian economies that rely on the vital Strait of Hormuz—currently closed to maritime traffic—for energy resources. In 2025, the Middle East was the source of 57% of China's direct seaborne crude oil imports.

Officials from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), China’s top economic planning body, met with refinery representatives and issued a verbal request for a "temporary suspension" of refined product exports, effective immediately.

The report added that refineries were also asked to "stop signing new contracts and negotiate the cancellation of previously agreed-upon shipments."
