During a session held in Tafileh Governorate on Monday, the Jordanian Cabinet unveiled a series of significant economic and development decisions aimed at stimulating investment and infrastructure in the region.

Government Spokesperson and Minister of Government Communications, Mohammad Al-Momani, announced that the Cabinet approved the following key measures:
Electricity Exemption for 3 Years
Companies and factories established or registered within one year from today in Tafileh Industrial City will be exempt from electricity charges for a period of three years, offering a major incentive for new investments in the area.
50% Reduction in Land Prices
The government has reduced land prices in Tafileh Industrial City by 50%, setting the new price at 5 Jordanian dinars per square meter, aimed at lowering entry barriers for businesses.
Easing Import Restrictions for Freight Sector
Businesses will now be allowed to import truck heads (tractor units) manufactured within 8 years prior to the clearance year, reducing operational costs for companies and workers in the freight and logistics sector.
Paying Dues to Contractors and Suppliers
The Cabinet approved the allocation of 50 million dinars to settle outstanding payments owed to suppliers and contractors related to municipal projects, ensuring project continuity and minimizing delays.
Tafileh Courthouse Project
A tender for designing the new Palace of Justice (Qasr Al-Adl) in Tafileh will be issued this year, with construction scheduled to begin in 2026.
Al-Momani emphasized the government's firm commitment to implementing all announced projects and confirmed that required funds will be included in the state budget.
He also noted that holding the Cabinet session in Tafileh reflects the government’s field-based, inclusive governance approach, as part of its strategy to institutionalize partnership with local elected representatives. This is the eighth Cabinet session held in a governorate outside Amman.
