According to a JCC statement released Monday, both parties emphasized the importance of building upon the distinguished Jordanian-Egyptian relations. They highlighted the need to strengthen public-private sector collaboration to increase mutual investments and open new avenues for cooperation in economic sectors of shared interest.

Economic Integration Beyond Numbers
Al-Haj Tawfiq underscored the significance of continuous economic coordination, noting that the relationship between the two countries transcends trade exchange figures. He stated that the JCC believes the partnership should evolve into full economic integration, leveraging the unique strengths and expertise of both fraternal nations to achieve unity across economic, logistical, agricultural, and service sectors.

He further noted that Jordan offers a stable and secure investment environment, supported by modern legislation, advanced infrastructure, and a strategic geographic location that qualifies it as a regional hub for business and logistics. He emphasized that despite regional challenges, the Kingdom has maintained economic and monetary stability, bolstering the confidence of local, Arab, and foreign investors—especially under the ambitious and realistic Economic Modernization Vision.

Strategic Partnerships
For his part, Minister Mohamed Farid Saleh affirmed the depth of the historical ties between the two countries, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. He noted that these ties reflect positively on economic relations, expressing his commitment to facilitating the flow of goods between the two countries and supporting Jordanian exports to Egypt’s neighbors. He also stressed his keenness to build strategic partnerships and mutual investments.

The meeting was attended by Khaled Hanafi, Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Chambers, alongside representatives from relevant Egyptian authorities.

Trade Figures and Opportunities
According to foreign trade data, the trade exchange volume between Jordan and Egypt in 2025 reached approximately 812 million JOD. Jordanian exports to Egypt accounted for 163.1 million JOD, while imports from Egypt totaled roughly 649 million JOD.

Key Jordanian Exports: Chemical products, fertilizers, potash, food industries, and plastics.

Key Jordanian Imports: Natural gas, food products, chemicals, fresh oranges, and various industrial and consumer goods.

The data indicates promising opportunities to bolster trade, particularly in fertilizers, chemical products, and phosphoric acids from the Jordanian side, and construction materials and food industries from the Egyptian side. This reflects significant potential for expanding economic and investment partnerships between the private sectors of both countries.
