US President Donald Trump said Monday that the Houthis are behaving “very badly,” describing their conduct as unacceptable.
Speaking to reporters, Trump said he had spoken with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Regarding the war against Iran, Trump said the elections that will determine which party controls both chambers of Congress during the remaining two years of his current term would have no impact on his decisions concerning the war.
He reiterated that Iran would not obtain a nuclear weapon, saying the United States was preventing that from happening. He added that Iran has neither a navy nor an air force, and claimed that inflation had reached 301%.
On the war between Ukraine and Russia, Trump called on Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to meet and bring the conflict to an end, describing the war as “ridiculous.”
Trump said both sides would agree not to target oil facilities, while noting that violations had been committed by both parties.
He stressed that the war, which has claimed 32,000 lives, must end. He added that both sides want a ceasefire and that Zelenskyy must be persuaded to accept one, saying: “Putin is more eager to reach a deal than Zelenskyy.”
