Donald Trump expressed his frustration at not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, as he did last year, saying he had “never heard of” the winner announced earlier, South African judge and human rights advocate Navi Pillay.اضافة اعلان

Pillay was awarded the prize on Friday in recognition of her efforts to combat war crimes and crimes against humanity.

“The United States, represented by me, your president, should have received the Nobel Peace Prize, but that did not happen,” Trump said.

“It is an indelible stain on Norway and those who made this disgraceful and embarrassing decision. The Nobel Peace Prize has lost its credibility forever at the hands of a handful of extreme, anti-democratic ideologues who are, in fact, enemies of civilization,” he added.

Since returning to the White House in January 2025, Trump has made no secret of his desire to win the Nobel Peace Prize.

However, his war against Iran, expansionist ambitions, including regarding Greenland, hardline stance on migrants, and attacks on multilateralism and the media had ruled him out as a serious candidate, according to Oslo-based experts who spoke before Pillay was announced as the winner.

The prize includes a gold medal, a diploma and a cash award of $1.2 million.

Pillay joked about sharing her prize with Trump, telling the audience, which applauded her after the announcement: “If you clap a little louder, I might share this prize with Trump.”

The remark appeared to be a satirical reference to Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado, who gave her Nobel gold medal to Trump after winning the prize last year.
