Five people were killed in a drone attack on an industrial area in Chekhov, outside Moscow, local authorities announced on Tuesday.
Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov said in a post on Telegram that fires broke out in the Novoselki industrial zone following the strike, adding that five people were killed and six others were injured.

The death toll is considered unusually high for the area surrounding the Russian capital, which is located hundreds of kilometers from the front lines where Russian and Ukrainian forces have been fighting for more than four years.
Ukraine has carried out a series of long-range air strikes in recent weeks targeting Russian warehouses and logistics facilities.
In particular, Kyiv has targeted facilities belonging to the Russian e-commerce company Wildberries.
In the northwestern Leningrad region, a drone attack sparked a fire at a Wildberries logistics site, the company’s press office said Tuesday morning on Telegram. Regional Governor Alexander Drozdenko said that 17 drones had been shot down in the area and that damage had been reported near one of the warehouses.
On the Ukrainian side, two children and an elderly man were killed in overnight Russian strikes on the Sumy region, according to regional governor Oleh Hryhorov.
He said the bodies of two young girls were found beneath the rubble of their home.
Russian forces also struck the city of Kherson overnight, injuring a 52-year-old man, according to the city’s military administration.
