The volunteer teams, formed by the ministry from students of Quran centers across various regions of the Kingdom, operate according to weekly plans to implement the National Cleanliness Strategy and reduce random littering, under the supervision of a central team headed by the Secretary-General.

Al-Khatib stated that the initiative targets neighborhoods surrounding mosques across the Kingdom, emphasizing that the message of volunteer work begins at the mosque and extends to the local community. He praised the notable level of activity witnessed in various governorates during the past week.

He added that the volunteer teams carried out field activities stretching from the north to the south, coinciding with the launch of “Mosque Care Week.” Clear efforts were seen in a number of mosques, contributing to attracting new youth participants to volunteer work. He also confirmed that foundations are being laid to establish an annual award to be granted to ten outstanding teams, in addition to honoring individual initiatives, with the aim of promoting positive competition and strengthening a culture of institutional volunteerism.

Al-Khatib called on the teams to document their activities and send visual materials to the media committee in preparation for announcing the third initiative during a meeting scheduled for next week.

He further noted that the ministry, in cooperation with telecommunications companies, will launch a quarter of a million SMS messages targeting youth to encourage participation in initiatives, helping expand the base of volunteer work and transform it into a sustainable community culture.
