Taxi drivers complain about ridesharing apps

AMMAN — Muhammad Shehadeh Al-Hadid, deputy head of the Syndicate of Owners of Taxi Offices, Internal and External Travel, and Driving Training Centers criticized the Ministry of Transportation, the Land Transportation Regulatory Authority, and the Greater Amman Municipality over ridesharing apps, according to Al-Rai daily.اضافة اعلان

He said that regulators have not met with him to discuss problems drivers face, particularly the “unfair” competition taxi drivers suffer from ridesharing apps.

Tareq Habashneh, director of the authority, told Al-Rai that “we met with yellow taxi drivers and offered them several solutions, but they have not presented anything official yet. The first step starts with them.”

Hadid said that the syndicate had presented proposals for solutions, but the authorities have not responded.
