AMMAN — An official source confirmed that a recent preliminary study conducted by a consultancy company has shown that the northern regions of Jordan do not require any new dams. اضافة اعلان

The study revealed that the northern valleys are fully utilized in terms of dams, and no new constructions are necessary, according to Jo24.

New damsHowever, the source revealed that dam management has approved the construction of two new dams in the southern regions and valleys after securing the necessary funding.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Water and Irrigation cannot construct dams in the eastern regions due to the flat and sandy nature of the land, with no mountains or valleys suitable for designing dams.

Instead, the ministry is exploring alternative water harvesting projects through excavations and earth dams in those areas.
