AMMAN – Queen Alia International Airport received 841,006 passengers in September, marking a 20.8 percent growth
compared to the previous year's statistics. The airport also handled 6,760
flights, representing a 20.4 percent increase, according to the International Airport Group, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The group announced in a statement on Thursday
that the airport dealt with 6,109 tons of air cargo, reflecting a 9.9 percent
increase compared to the same period last year.
According to the statistics recorded from the
beginning of the year until the end of September, the airport received
7,255,782 passengers, registering a 24.4 percent increase compared to last
year's statistics.
During this period, the airport recorded
60,170 aircraft movements, reflecting a 16.9 percent increase, and handled
48,457 tons, marking a 5.5 percent increase in air cargo compared to 2022.
The group's CEO, Nicolas Claude, stated that
the group, in collaboration with sector partners, is working towards restoring
air traffic to pre-COVID-19 levels.
