Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan conducted an inspection visit to the Um Al-Rasas archaeological site, emphasizing the need to implement comprehensive programs to restore its unique features and preserve its historical and archaeological value.

During the tour, Dr. Hassan stressed the importance of improving the level of services provided to visitors and the continuous promotion of the site both locally and internationally, reflecting its significance as one of Jordan’s most important archaeological landmarks, which has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2004.
Um Al-Rasas spans a vast area of 1,200 dunums and contains relics from multiple historical periods, including 16 ancient churches, some featuring rare mosaic floors, as well as a historic fortress, a tower, and numerous other notable structures.
