Petra lit up in purple to mark World Heritage Day

AMMAN — The Petra Treasury, the Petra Museum, and a number of other landmarks in the Nabatean city were illuminated in purple lights Monday to mark World Heritage Day, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.اضافة اعلان

Suleiman Farajat, chief commissioner of the Petra Development and Tourism Authority, said in a press statement that Petra joined the world in celebrating World Heritage Day, celebrated each year on April 18.

Petra’s Treasury has been lit up on other occasions, including World Autism Awareness Day, World Tourism Day, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and the World Cancer Day, according to Farajat.
