PSD quells al-Rabia rioting, regrets officer injuries

AMMAN — The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate reported that a group of individuals in the Rabia area engaged in acts of rioting, arson, and caused material damage. They did so after leaving the designated location for the planned event and attempting to take refuge in one of the back streets to reach the Israeli embassy. The media spokesperson appealed to everyone to comply with the law and security instructions and to cooperate with the Public Security personnel in the field, ensuring their protection and the peaceful expression of their views. He expressed deep regret for the injuries suffered by some Public Security personnel during their handling of the rioting and the breaches of the law, assuring that they have been transported to the hospital for treatment and are in stable condition.
