According to a statement by the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, the MoU aims to provide and exchange updated information and data to support the planning and implementation of projects that develop effective policies and deliver better and faster services. This will be achieved through the exchange of general data and, more specifically, geographic information to be used in preparing and issuing official statistics that support decision-makers and meet the needs of both parties.

Al-Mahamid explained that the MoU outlines cooperation in surveying, aerial and satellite imaging, as well as collaboration in training related to surveying sciences, remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), and research projects within the areas of expertise of both parties.

For his part, Haddadin highlighted the importance of this MoU in establishing and enhancing a sustainable partnership between the two entities, and institutionalizing the process of providing and sharing aerial and satellite images and data according to their classification levels. He affirmed that training in geospatial sciences at the center is aligned with the latest technological and practical developments.

He added that this agreement is part of ongoing cooperation between the Geographic Center and other public and private sector institutions, aiming to leverage the center’s capabilities in line with the Royal Vision, and to coordinate efforts and exchange information between institutions in the fields of surveying sciences, mapping, geographic information, and aerial imaging.
