Ministry sets cap on chicken wholesale prices

AMMAN — Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply, Maha Ali, decided to set prices for wholesale fresh chicken on the local market at JD1.90 per kilo, inclusive of sales tax.اضافة اعلان

Under the instructions, the maximum retail price of live chicken was kept at JD1.65, and fresh chicken at JD2 per kilo.

The decision was based on the provisions of Article (7) of the Industry and Trade Law No. (18) for the year 1998 and its amendments, and in accordance with the powers delegated to the minister under Cabinet Resolution (387) dated 11/11/2011 to set a cap on commodity prices in cases of unreasonable pricing.  

The ministry said that chicken prices will be reviewed periodically.
