Lower House committee to examine General Amnesty Law draft

AMMAN— The Chairman of the Lower House Legal Committee, Ghazi Al-Thunaibat stated that the committee will carefully examine the forthcoming draft of the General Amnesty Law for the Lower House, striving to serve the interests of Jordanians and align with the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah.اضافة اعلان

Thunaibat highlighted that traffic, customs, tax, and violations under the jurisdiction of the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) will be covered by the General Amnesty Law, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.

He further explained that the draft General Amnesty Law will undergo its constitutional procedure, starting with its submission from the government to the House of Representatives. Subsequently, it will be referred to the Committee for thorough discussion to ensure the public interest is met.

Thunaibat stressed the committee's commitment to meticulously scrutinize the upcoming draft of the General Amnesty Law with utmost care and attention.

It is noteworthy that His Majesty instructed the government to prepare a draft law for general amnesty and to proceed with its constitutional procedures. These royal directives coincide with the silver jubilee of His Majesty's assumption of constitutional powers and accession to the throne.
