During the event, held by the Amman Chamber of Industry, His Majesty presented honorary shields to several institutions, companies, and individuals selected by the Chamber in recognition of their efforts in supporting national exports and strengthening their presence in foreign markets.

This year, Jordan’s industrial exports surpassed 5.5 billion dinars, accounting for nearly 91% of total national exports. The sector also recorded notable growth in key strategic subsectors, including chemical, pharmaceutical, food, engineering, and garment industries.

The event also celebrated Jordan’s accession this year to the Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-operation Scheme (PIC/S), reflecting the commitment of the Jordan Food and Drug Administration to the highest standards of pharmaceutical quality and oversight. This step enhances the competitiveness of national exports and opens new markets for Jordanian pharmaceuticals.

Upon his arrival at the Chamber, His Majesty viewed a mural depicting the journey of Jordan’s industrial sector and listened to a briefing by Chamber Director Dr. Nael Al-Hussami on the sector’s major stages of development.

Eng. Fathi Al-Jaghbir, President of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry, said in his speech that the sector continues to lead the region in its contribution to GDP, with a direct contribution of around 25%.

Al-Jaghbir noted that Jordanian exports have reached more than 150 markets worldwide, with special focus on non-traditional markets in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, and by building on His Majesty’s international tours to strengthen trade relations. He pointed out that exports have grown by 39% over the past four years.

He also highlighted ongoing sector development efforts through investment in research, innovation, and technology, noting that the Chamber is working to establish a specialized company for semiconductor manufacturing to keep pace with global industrial and technological advancement.

For his part, Jordan Chamber of Commerce President Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq said that Jordan’s economy is built on an interconnected fabric of industrial, commercial, service, and agricultural sectors. He stressed that this integration has enabled Jordan to turn challenges into opportunities and to prove the credibility and quality of Jordanian products.

He noted the ability of the services, industrial, and agricultural sectors to increase exports through cooperation between the government and chambers of commerce, positioning Jordan as a regional hub for re-export and reconstruction, and as an export gateway to the region.

He added that the private sector views the Economic Modernization Vision as the first comprehensive national project bringing together the public and private sectors under one umbrella, affirming that sustaining the vision’s success requires continued teamwork.

His Majesty toured an industrial exhibition held with the participation of representatives from Jordanian companies and factories operating across multiple sectors, where he reviewed efforts to enhance the competitiveness of national products.

The King also visited the Jordan Innovation Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (InJo4.0) at the Chamber headquarters, where he listened to a briefing by engineer Dana Qad’ah about the center’s role in accelerating digital and technological adoption in the industrial sector to boost productivity and competitiveness.
