The Jordanian Armed Forces – The Arab Army hosted a high-level military meeting on Tuesday, bringing together Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Yousef Al-Huneiti, the Chief of the General Staff of the Syrian Army and Armed Forces, the Chief of Staff of the Iraqi Army, and the Minister of Peshmerga Affairs in the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq.

The meeting underscores the enduring relations among the participating parties and their commitment to developing them, as well as enhancing frameworks for military cooperation and coordination in light of the rapidly evolving security challenges in the region, serving mutual interests and contributing to regional security and stability.
Participants discussed several issues of mutual concern, foremost among them regional security and border control amid ongoing challenges, alongside ways to bolster coordination and cooperation to counter various cross-border threats and risks. They emphasized the importance of continued communication and the exchange of information and expertise to enhance their collective capability to address various challenges efficiently and effectively.
Attendees reaffirmed that current regional developments necessitate increased coordination and integrated efforts, stressing that protecting borders and countering security threats require sustained joint action to bolster the ability of regional states to safeguard their security, sovereignty, and stability.
They also highlighted the importance of building upon existing ties and expanding military and security cooperation to elevate readiness, confront present and future challenges, and advance the shared interests of the region's nations.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff met with the Commander of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) to discuss aspects of military cooperation and coordination, the latest regional developments, current security challenges, and joint efforts aimed at promoting regional security and stability.
This meeting forms part of the Jordanian Armed Forces – The Arab Army's dedication to strengthening ties with regional militaries and refining channels of coordination and communication to address common challenges, safeguard border security, and reinforce the pillars of regional peace and stability.
