On Wednesday, the Jordanian Armed Forces evacuated four children from Gaza suffering from cancer, along with 12 accompanying family members, to receive treatment in Jordan. This marks the second group of patients to benefit from the Jordanian Medical Corridor initiative.

This effort is part of Jordan's ongoing humanitarian mission to transfer sick children from the Gaza Strip to Jordanian hospitals for treatment. The Jordanian Medical Corridor aims to evacuate 2,000 sick children from Gaza for lifesaving care in the Kingdom.
The Jordanian Armed Forces are carrying out these evacuations in phases, transporting patients and family members using military ambulances and buses. Air evacuation is also used when necessary, depending on the patient’s condition and urgency.
The first group was evacuated on March 4, when 29 children and 44 of their family members were transferred to Jordan by land and air, in cooperation with the World Health Organization.
Under the established plan, patients are treated in both public and private hospitals across Jordan by specialized medical teams. After completing their treatment, the children are returned to Gaza.
On May 13, 17 Palestinian children who had completed their treatment in Jordan were safely returned to Gaza with their families.
Jordan has consistently been at the forefront of providing humanitarian aid to Gaza since the outbreak of war. Jordanian field hospitals in Gaza have delivered critical care to thousands amid the collapse of the local health system.
The Jordanian Medical Corridor – Gaza is an extension of Jordan's humanitarian efforts to ensure that children in Gaza receive the lifesaving treatment they desperately need. The initiative was announced by His Majesty King Abdullah II during his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump on February 11, 2025, at the White House.
