Jordan history conference starts Tuesday

AMMAN — An International conference on archaeology will open at Yarmouk University (YU) on Tuesday, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. Entitled the Thoughtful Archeology in the Ecosphere and Sociosphere, the meeting will discuss scientific topics which cover aspects related to archeological research, applied sciences, reports of excavations and archeological surveys, and prehistoric and antiquity periods from Alexander the Great until the Islamic conquest. Organized by YU and the Department of Antiquities, the conference will run through August 5 and will host 294 people from Arab including, such as Egypt, Iraq, and the UAE, and others from Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Japan, Holland, Spain, Turkey, the UK, and the US.
