The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Huneiti, discussed on Sunday with an Iraqi military delegation—led by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Shwan Mazhar Ali—mechanisms to develop the military partnership between Jordan and Iraq.

During the meeting, held at his office in the General Command, both sides explored ways to elevate bilateral coordination on issues of mutual interest, particularly in counter-terrorism and combating drug smuggling operations.
Major General Al-Huneiti emphasized the Kingdom's commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to strengthening fraternal ties with Iraq. He stressed the importance of enhancing support and cooperation to consolidate the security and stability of both nations.
For its part, the Iraqi delegation expressed appreciation for Jordan's supportive stances, praising the durability of the relations between the two sides and the importance of building upon them to serve common interests.
The meeting was attended by several senior officers of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) and the Iraqi military attaché in Amman.
