This comes following the signing earlier this month of a cooperation agreement between the Jordanian Vocational Training Corporation and the Moroccan Office for Vocational Training and Employment Promotion to establish the first Jordanian-Moroccan vocational training institute in Amman. The institute will be built on an 11-dunum plot near the airport and the project will be implemented in three phases.

Al-Bakkar highlighted that the agreement reflects the historical brotherly relations between Jordan and Morocco and the royal directives of King Abdullah II and King Mohammed VI to enhance youth training and workforce readiness.

The institute will benefit from Morocco’s advanced vocational training model, including apprenticeship programs, allowing transfer of expertise and best practices to Jordan to develop the skills of Jordanian youth.

Training will initially focus on key fields such as healthcare and pharmaceuticals, electric and hybrid vehicle maintenance, precision electrical equipment maintenance, specialized digital skills, and Moroccan culinary and hospitality arts.

Opportunities for trainee exchanges to Morocco are planned to further leverage Morocco’s vocational expertise. The collaboration is expected to significantly elevate Jordan’s vocational training sector and enhance youth employment prospects in line with local and regional labor market needs.
