The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission, Musa Maaytah, emphasized that the legitimacy of elections stems from citizens’ confidence in them and the reflection of their will through the electoral process. He underscored the importance of the trust the Commission has gained from public opinion and from citizens' belief that their vote makes a difference.

Speaking during the launch of a public opinion poll conducted by the Nama Center on women's political participation in the 2024 parliamentary elections and the impact of new legislation, Maaytah stated that the Commission will continue to implement the law, which he described as the foundation of democracy.
He added that partisan political work is legitimate, and party goals must be pursued exclusively through peaceful means. He affirmed that the political modernization process is ongoing and represents a national interest for Jordan.
Maaytah pointed out that the Commission is not a static body—it plays a vital role in enhancing political participation and developing a party-based life that reflects the diversity of Jordanian society. He stressed that the Commission operates based on the Constitution and the law and aims to empower all groups and political movements while upholding the rule of law.
He also noted a significant drop in the percentage of citizens who believe that parliamentary elections do not reflect the will of the people—from 47% to 22%—and a rise in satisfaction with the elections from 35% to 60%. This, he said, reflects a positive shift in public confidence in the electoral process.
