The Ministry of Education has confirmed that the General Secondary Education Certificate Examination (Tawjihi) scheduled for June 26 will proceed as planned, despite the date coinciding with a public holiday.

The ministry noted that a similar instance occurred during the previous summer session, when an exam coincided with the Islamic New Year holiday and was not rescheduled. It also pointed out that school exams have previously been held on Saturdays, which are regular weekly holidays.
Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan had earlier issued an official directive declaring Thursday, June 26 a public holiday marking the Islamic New Year (1 Muharram, 1447 AH for all ministries, government departments, public institutions, official universities, municipalities, joint services councils, the Greater Amman Municipality, and wholly government-owned companies.
However, the directive excluded entities whose nature of work requires otherwise.
