On Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Iran has informed the United States that there are no transit fees, insurance costs, or any other charges imposed or collected from ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

In a post on the "Truth Social" platform, Trump added that reports suggesting otherwise are incorrect, emphasizing that negotiations would terminate immediately if this information proves to be untrue.
He pointed out that the United States has not given Iran any money, nor has it released any of Iran's own funds. He added that Washington would release a portion of the funds under its control to benefit American farmers and ranchers, in order to purchase corn, wheat, soybeans, and other commodities.
Trump stated that food is desperately needed in Iran, asserting that the United States will purchase it for them exclusively from the United States.
