Al-Mqabla explained that the Ministry's epidemiological investigation and rapid response teams, in coordination with the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA), have begun investigating the suspected poisoning. He noted that the JFDA took a precautionary measure by closing a restaurant contracted by the school that supplies its canteens with meals suspected of causing abdominal pain and poisoning symptoms among the students.
He confirmed that specialized teams have collected food samples from the school canteens and the restaurant for laboratory testing. Additionally, laboratory samples were taken to ensure the health and safety of the workers at both the restaurant and the school canteens to determine the cause of the suspected poisoning and take necessary measures to protect public safety.
According to the JFDA, the distribution of meat products in school canteens is strictly prohibited, and full compliance with the health conditions and regulations governing school canteen operations is mandatory.
