Key Infrastructure Projects
Al-Momani revealed that the government will rehabilitate the infrastructure for the road leading to the new Princess Basma Hospital, linking it to the Irbid Ring Road at a cost of JD 10 million. Notably, this will be designated as a toll road, marking a strategic shift in funding major transit corridors.
Additionally, the Cabinet has allocated JD 2 million for the maintenance of the Ramtha Road, specifically the "40th Street" in Irbid, to improve traffic flow and safety in the northern region.
Enhancing Labor Mobility and Transport
In an effort to support the industrial sector, the government has formed a committee, chaired by the Minister of Transport, to evaluate and improve public transit from Irbid’s districts to various industrial and developmental zones. The committee will explore financing solutions through both direct government funding and private sector investment to facilitate easier access for workers.
Health and Economic Development
During the press conference, Al-Momani highlighted several vital projects discussed by the Cabinet, including:
The establishment of a specialized cancer treatment center at the new Princess Basma Hospital.
The continued completion of the Irbid Ring Road project.
The Prime Minister’s directive to review and submit recommendations for renewing tax and customs exemptions.
Strategic Economic Outlook
Reiterating the government’s broader fiscal goals, Al-Momani confirmed that JD 9 billion will be injected into the national economy through major strategic investments over the coming year.
The session in Irbid is part of the government’s decentralized approach to monitor the progress of development visions and ensure that national decisions align directly with the specific needs and priorities of the governorates.
