Fuel prices expected to decrease 3­­–7% in January

AMMAN — The government is expected to announce a 3–7 percent reduction in the price of fuel in January, Jo24 reported.

The reduction will cover all kinds of oil derivatives, and the price of a liter of diesel is expected to be reduced by 6 to 6.5 piasters and a liter of kerosene by 2.5 to 3 piasters. Gasoline is expected to drop 2 to 3 piasters per liter.اضافة اعلان

The government finalized the fixed tax on solar at the beginning of December and finalized the tax on gasoline in November.

Many Jordanians will consider this reduction to come short of their demands for a meaningful reduction on the fixed tax on fuel, said Khaberni.

The fixed tax on fuel was introduced in 2019.
