The Director General of Jordan Customs, Customs Brigadier General Ahmed Al-Aqayleh, stated that including cases with customs seizure reports issued before January 1, 2025, under Cabinet decisions related to fine exemptions encourages individuals involved in such cases to resolve pending matters and reach settlements that would facilitate their situations and allow them to benefit from the decision.اضافة اعلان

Al-Aqayleh explained that the Cabinet, as part of its ongoing decisions regarding the exemption of fines at rates of 60% and 90%, has approved the inclusion of cases dated before January 1, 2025, in accordance with the percentages set by previous decisions. The implementation of Cabinet Decision No. 454 has been extended until December 31, 2025. Additionally, the fines related to administrative collection expenses for these cases will be fully waived upon payment of the principal amount due. He added that the exemption will not affect any rights the parties may have with the Customs Department.

Al-Aqayleh called on citizens, traders, and investors to take the initiative and benefit from this decision, which was issued based on the recommendation of the Economic Modernization and Development Committee, aiming to encourage investment and ease procedures for investors and traders to reach settlements and close pending cases. The decision stipulates a 60% exemption from fines for cases where no duties or taxes are owed by the involved parties on the goods in question, and a 90% exemption for cases where duties and taxes are owed on the goods related to the case.
