AMMAN — Engineers have raised concerns over the non-payment of retirees’ salaries from the union- affiliated retirement fund since the beginning of 2023. The issue stems from a lack of liquidity in the fund, causing delays in disbursing the rightful financial benefits to retired engineers. اضافة اعلان

An engineer revealed that she, along with her colleagues, had made multiple visits to the union seeking clarification on the suspension of their financial entitlements. The response received was that the fund has been depleted and is currently awaiting government approval of the necessary amendments in accordance with the regulations, Ammon News reported.

It has been estimated that approximately 16,000 engineers, including heirs, are eligible to receive retirement benefits. Urging the current council to take action, she emphasized the need for immediate efforts to resolve the issue and ensure the prompt disbursement of salaries.

She urged the council not to shift responsibility solely to the government when it comes to approving the required amendments.
