‘Doomsday’ variant not recorded in Kingdom

AMMAN — Secretary-general for Primary Health Care and Epidemiology at the Ministry of Health, Raed Al-Shboul, said that no infections with the new coronavirus variant, “doomsday” have been recorded in the Kingdom until now.اضافة اعلان

He added that the ministry has been carrying out monitoring operations throughout the Kingdom and checking those coming from abroad since the beginning of the pandemic, according to Jo24.

“We have not recorded any infections with the new mutant”, he said.

Shboul indicated that the ministry has developed emergency plans that will be activated according to the nature and spread of infections.

The “doomsday” coronavirus variant has sparked panic after it infected about 250 million people during the month of December in China.

Doomsday” is one of the current coronavirus variants in China, and while its symptoms are less severe as it has a lesser impact on the respiratory system, its danger lies in how rapidly it spreads amongst people.
