Major General Al-Hunaiti: We will not permit any party to violate Jordanian airspace, and we will deal firmly with any threat targeting the Kingdom.

Major General Al-Hunaiti: The General Command is moving forward with the development and modernization of Air Defense systems to keep pace with current requirements and developments.

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hunaiti, visited the Modified Hawk Missile Unit/20 on Tuesday. He was received by the Commander of the Royal Jordanian Air Force and the Unit Commander.

Major General Al-Hunaiti was briefed on the technical and operational readiness levels, as well as the measures taken by the unit over the past days in responding to missiles and drones that targeted sites and facilities within the Kingdom’s territory across several provinces.

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff emphasized that protecting the Kingdom’s skies is a sovereign duty that admits no compromise or complacency. He stressed that the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) will not allow any attempt to penetrate its airspace and will deal firmly with any threat to national security and citizen safety through precise operational procedures.

Al-Hunaiti explained that the General Command—under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces—is committed to developing and modernizing Air Defense systems in line with current technical developments. He noted that investment in specialized training and qualification is ongoing to enhance readiness and consolidate professionalism in executing assigned duties.

Additionally, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, accompanied by several senior officers, joined the personnel of the (Shaheed Muwaffaq Salti) Air Base** for Maghrib prayer and Iftar. He praised their efforts and high state of vigilance in safeguarding the Kingdom’s skies, affirming that the Arab Army will remain the protective shield of the nation and its impregnable fortress against all circumstances and challenges.
