This came during his participation in the 10th Vienna Migration Conference, held this year in the Austrian capital amid growing challenges faced by neighboring countries due to escalating regional crises and the continued influx of refugees.

Al-Farayeh also urged for increased funding to support refugees, noting that funding for the 2025 Syria Crisis Response Plan has reached only 12% of its target.

He stressed the need to achieve stability in Syria, describing it as the fundamental solution to reducing migration and ensuring regional peace.

On the sidelines of the conference, Al-Farayeh met with his Austrian counterpart Gerhard Karner, where they discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations and security cooperation, as well as support voluntary return of Syrian refugees.

He reviewed Jordan’s efforts in hosting refugees, providing access to quality education and healthcare, and reaffirmed Jordan’s commitment to creating suitable conditions for their return.

Al-Farayeh also expressed his appreciation to the European Union and Austria for their continuous support.

Additionally, he met with Swedish Minister for Migration John Forsell, focusing on the Ministry of Interior’s readiness to share its human, technical, and operational expertise to help stabilize Syria, strengthen its institutions, and advance its development process.
