The visit included talks with European Union and Belgian government officials, as well as discussions with private-sector representatives to highlight investment opportunities in Jordan and strengthen engagement with European decision-makers and business communities.

Abu Ghazaleh met with European Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security Maros Sefcovic, European Commissioner for the Mediterranean Dubravka Suica, Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Employment, Economy and Agriculture David Clarinval, and Michael Carnitchnig, Acting Director-General for the Middle East, North Africa and the Gulf at the European Commission.

The talks, attended by Jordan’s Ambassador to Belgium and the European Union Yousef Al-Batayneh, focused on investment cooperation and ways to translate it into projects that serve mutual interests.

Abu Ghazaleh also participated in a roundtable organized by the Arab-Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, where he discussed cooperation opportunities with company representatives and the business community, as well as ways to encourage European private-sector participation in the conference.

Abu Ghazaleh said Jordan offers competitive advantages that enable European companies to invest in the Kingdom and expand their operations into regional and international markets, benefiting from its strategic location and qualified workforce. He said this could pave the way for partnerships combining European technology with local capabilities.

“The conference represents a practical platform for taking the Jordan-EU strategic partnership into a new phase of economic cooperation by bringing together investors, companies and financial institutions to discuss specific opportunities and move them toward negotiation, financing and implementation,” Abu Ghazaleh said.

He stressed the importance of following up on these opportunities after the conference to turn them into economically viable projects for investors, support the national economy, create jobs for Jordanians, and contribute to the transfer of technology and expertise.

Abu Ghazaleh and Suica affirmed that preparations for the Jordan-EU Investment Conference are on track. They renewed calls for European companies and business communities to participate, highlighting the investment opportunities and targeted sectors and expressing their expectation that these opportunities will translate into investment projects and partnerships.
