AMMAN — On Wednesday evening, the Public Security Directorate (PSD) announced the outcomes of a security operation that achieved its objectives, resulting in the apprehension of numerous drug smugglers and dealers in the Al-Ruwaished District. The spokesperson for the directorate, Amer Al-Sartawi, confirmed that this operation, part of the ongoing efforts by the armed forces and security services to combat drug gangs, involved searches, inspections, and raids. In a statement, Sartawi detailed the items seized by the security forces during the operation, including quantities of narcotic drugs (pills and crystal), 30 firearms (automatic and long-range), a significant amount of ammunition, a drone used in smuggling operations, communication devices, binoculars, and forged vehicle license plates, along with vehicles employed in drug smuggling and transportation, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.

Sartawi emphasized that PSD is persistently continuing its efforts in coordination and collaboration with the armed forces, the Arab Army, and security services to pursue criminals involved in drug trafficking and endangering the security of Jordanians.

PSD commended the significant national role played by the media and Jordanian citizens who supported the armed forces and security services, standing united against those attempting to undermine the homeland's security and the integrity of its borders and territory.
