West Asian Junior Basketball Championship kicks off Tuesday

AMMAN — The West Asian Junior Basketball Championship for U-16 will kick off today with two matches at Prince Hamzah Hall in Al-Hussein Youth City. Iraq is set to play against Syria 5pm, followed by Jordan playing against Lebanon at 8pm. Five teams will participate in the tournament in Amman including the host country Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iran, and Iraq. The tournament will be held in a single-stage split-league system where the two teams with the most points will qualify for the Asian Cup hosted in the Qatari capital Doha from June 12 to 19.
