UEFA's Executive Committee held a meeting the day before yesterday in Thessaloniki, Greece, and decided to select "Spotify Camp Nou" to host the 2029 UEFA Champions League final.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta had, on several occasions, expressed his desire for the stadium to host the flagship match of Europe's most prestigious tournament, before that wish finally became reality.
By 2029, "Spotify Camp Nou" will be fully ready to become European football's grand stage, and the stadium, after its rebuilding and redevelopment, will get the chance to present its new look to the world.
Construction of the third tier and the VIP boxes is scheduled to be completed during the current season.
The next major step will come in the summer of 2027, when installation of the stadium's roof begins, considered one of the project's most complex phases.
The roof installation process will require Barcelona to play some of its matches at the Olympic Stadium in Montjuïc while the work progresses.
Looking ahead to the 2029 final, it won't be enough to simply finish the stadium's redevelopment work; all access routes and services connected to the facility must also be completed.
UEFA will find in Barcelona a stadium and surroundings that meet all the requirements needed to host thousands of fans.
For this reason, Barcelona received the decision to select its stadium with great enthusiasm, while also recognizing the scale of responsibility that comes with hosting the event.
Redevelopment work on the stadium began in May 2023, with the laying of the project's foundation stone.
Barcelona submitted its bid to host the final in cooperation with Barcelona City Council and the Catalan regional government, and the bid also received the backing of the Spanish Football Federation.
"Spotify Camp Nou" thus beat out the other candidate to host the 2029 final, Wembley Stadium.
The famous London stadium was a very strong competitor, but UEFA ultimately decided to select Barcelona's project.
Among the key factors that worked in the Catalan club's favor was the massive spectator capacity Camp Nou will reach once its redevelopment is complete, with the stadium able to hold more than 104,000 spectators, a capacity that will once again place it among the largest football stadiums in Europe.
The 2029 Champions League final will be the third major event of its kind hosted by Barcelona's stadium.
The first final was held in 1989, when Italy's AC Milan were crowned champions of Europe after beating Romania's Steaua Bucharest.
Ten years later, the stadium hosted the historic 1999 final, when Manchester United defeated Bayern Munich.
Three decades after that night, Camp Nou, in its new form, will once again get the chance to host the final of Europe's most prestigious tournament.
The countdown has already begun, as Barcelona's goal is to reach 2029 without leaving any details unfinished, so the club can present Camp Nou to the world in an entirely different form once its redevelopment is complete.
