right as a fundamental right and emphasizes the sovereignty of every nation.
The International Covenants on Civil, Political Rights, Economic, Social, and
Cultural Rights echo this sentiment. For instance, Article 1 of both covenants
proclaims that every nation possesses the right to determine its political fate.
While Palestinians have the right, anchored in these global principles, to resist Israeli occupation, major Western nations continuously back the Israeli occupation, contravening international legal and Human Rights benchmarks.

General Assembly has passed resolutions in 1960, 1970, and 1974, all of which
reinforce the rights of peoples under occupation or colonial rule. The Geneva
Conventions also amplify the rights of such peoples to solicit and obtain
