Social Security Corporation Launches New E-Service for Issuing Clearance Certificates to Retirees and Their Eligible Heirs
The Social Security Corporation (SSC) announced, through a statement from its media center, the launch of a new electronic service that enables retirees—whether alive—or first-degree relatives of deceased retirees, to issue a clearance certificate electronically, regardless of whether they are Jordanian or non-Jordanian. The service is available through the Corporation’s automated services on its official website: www.ssc.gov.jo.اضافة اعلان

The Corporation stated that eligibility for the clearance certificate requires that the retiree has no outstanding debts to the Retirement Directorate, no undue overpayments, and no liabilities related to the retiree’s business, if they are an employer.

For non-Jordanian retirees, a power of attorney is required if the request is submitted by an agent. In the case of a deceased retiree, the request must be submitted by a first-degree relative along with an officially certified proof of kinship.

The SSC emphasized that the service is available 24/7 throughout the week, helping to save time and effort for retirees, their relatives, or authorized representatives. The processing time for the service ranges from 2 to 10 days, and the clearance certificate is valid for one month from the date of issuance. The Corporation reaffirmed that all its services, whether online or in-person at its branches, are free of charge.

To request the clearance certificate electronically, the retiree should:

Log in to their account on the SSC’s website.

Select the option “To Whom It May Concern Letters.”

Choose “Retiree - Alive” and then select “View Clearance Certificate” and submit the request.

In the case of a deceased retiree, the applicant must:

Select the nationality and enter the national or personal ID number of the deceased retiree.

Click “Search,” select the correct name, and submit the request.

The SSC noted that once the request is processed, a text message will be sent to the applicant notifying them of approval or rejection. If approved, the applicant can revisit the same section under the “Automated Clearance Certificate for Retirees” option to print and officially issue the certificate, which is considered official and valid. A user guide for the service is available on the SSC website under the "Service Guides" section.
