Industry Ministry: Increase in Wheat Flour Price Will Not Affect Bread Prices
The Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply clarified that raising the price of standard wheat flour will not impact the cost of bread for consumers. The ministry emphasized that the price adjustment is part of its monthly review of bread production costs in light of monthly fuel price changes.اضافة اعلان

In a statement, the ministry explained that when diesel prices decrease, the flour price is raised, and when diesel prices increase, the flour price is lowered, in a way that does not affect bread costs. If diesel prices remain stable, flour prices also remain unchanged, reflecting variations in bread production costs.

For January, the ministry increased the sale price of standard wheat flour produced by private sector mills and Al-Juwaida Mill by JOD 4.888, bringing it to JOD 176.475 per ton, up from JOD 171.587 in October last year.

Additionally, under Ministry Decision No. 1 of 2026, the price of wheat for all mills in the Kingdom was raised by JOD 3.812 per ton for allocations set by the Directorate of Stock Management, reaching JOD 143.258 per ton instead of JOD 139.446 in October 2025.

The decision requires mills to supply approved bakeries with all their flour needs, provided the mills coordinate with the Directorate of Stock Management to confirm allocations. Otherwise, wheat prices will follow the second provision of the ministry’s decision at JOD 252 per ton for any excess quantities or unapproved sales, the same price as in October last year.
