Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on Sunday that Ukrainian forces attacked two oil tankers belonging to the "shadow fleet" at the entrance to the Russian port of Novorossiysk on the Black Sea.

"These two tankers were actively being used to transport oil; they are no longer doing so now," Zelensky added, according to Reuters.
He continued: "Ukraine will continue to comprehensively develop its long-range capabilities—at sea, in the air, and on land."
The European Union has recently imposed a new round of sanctions on 23 individuals and entities linked to Russia's so-called "shadow fleet" of oil tankers, as well as figures accused of spreading disinformation and conducting cyberattacks against EU member states.
Western nations and Ukraine are attempting to impact the Russian economy to cripple military spending. Russian oil remains one of the most significant targeted resources, particularly the "shadow fleet," which the Kremlin utilizes to bypass various sanction packages imposed by the West.
