The International Crimes Tribunal — Bangladesh’s domestic war crimes court based in the capital, Dhaka — issued the ruling amid tight security measures and in the absence of Hasina (78), who fled to India in August 2024 at the height of the uprising against her government.
In her first reaction, Hasina described the verdict as one issued by an “unfair court” established and led by an unelected government with no democratic mandate.
