An Israeli court on Tuesday approved the extension of the detention of Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in the Gaza Strip, without bringing any charges against him. The information was released in a statement received by the Anadolu Agency from the Israeli non-governmental organization "Physicians for Human Rights."

The organization stated that "the Beersheba District Court approved on Tuesday morning the continued detention of Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya under the 'Unlawful Combatants Law,' without any charges being filed, and rejected the defense's request for his immediate release."
