The Israeli occupation regularly accuses Hamas of seizing aid entering the Gaza Strip—an allegation the movement denies. The occupation claims the new mechanism is intended to prevent Hamas from gaining control over the aid.
In a speech, Netanyahu said: “We set up a plan with our American friends for controlled distribution sites, where an American company would distribute food to Palestinian families. There was a temporary loss of control, but fortunately, we regained it.”
In contrast, a senior Israeli military official affirmed that “today’s (Tuesday) aid distribution by American entities was successful.”
