Sheikh Hamoud Al-Sabah told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that this step comes in coordination with the relevant local and international authorities to ensure the resumption of operations in accordance with the highest standards of safety and security.

He added that this move is part of a carefully planned phased strategy to gradually resume air traffic, paving the way for the airport’s full operation in the coming period.

He explained that the Civil Aviation Authority had completed the assessment of damage affecting some airport facilities as a result of what he described as the criminal Iranian attack, along with its proxies and affiliated armed factions. He noted that technical teams had already begun maintenance and repair work on operational equipment, devices, and infrastructure to ensure full readiness.

He stated that the first phase of operations will include specific terminals based on operational priorities that ensure the safety of operations, with continued evaluation of each phase before moving to broader stages.
