Jordan to host first-ever conference for French-speaking businesspeople

AMMAN — The Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) and the Kingdom’s Francophone Businessmen Group are organizing an international conference for French-speaking businesspeople titled "Jordan: Land of Promising Opportunities for International Investors", to take place on May 15.اضافة اعلان

JBA President Hamdi Tabba said in a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, that the conference, which will be held at the Dead Sea, is the first of its kind to be organized in the Kingdom.

It represents an “important opportunity” to enhance trade and investment cooperation between French-speaking companies and institutions and the countries of the MENA region, he added.

Networking, building partnershipsParticipants in the conference will have the opportunity to expand their networks and communicate with business owners through sessions and workshops, Tabba said.

A major investorIn terms of business partnerships with France in specific, investments in Jordan from the European country total about $2 billion, with a particular focus on the Kingdom’s water sector, Tabba had said last month during a meeting with the French Ambassador to the Kingdom, Alexis Le Coeur Granmaison.

During the meeting, the envoy had highlighted the embassy's readiness to cooperate with the JBA to increase networking between the two nations’ business communities. He pointed out several opportunities to enhance cooperation in various fields, especially agriculture, which has drawn interest from the French side.
