TEL AVIV — An Israeli official stated on Tuesday, in remarks reported by the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, that a U.S. military strike against Iran is now "imminent."

The newspaper also cited sources who have spoken with President Donald Trump in recent days, noting that the U.S. President is leaning toward issuing an order for military action against Tehran.
In a related development, sources told Israel’s Channel 12 that Tel Aviv has finalized its preparations for the potential opening of additional conflict fronts. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commented on the situation, stating that Israel is navigating "complex days" and affirming that his government is prepared for any scenario.
On his Truth Social platform, President Trump reiterated that if the U.S. fails to reach an agreement with Iran regarding its nuclear ambitions, it will result in a "very bad day" for the Islamic Republic.
Trump also dismissed reports suggesting that the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Dan Caine, had warned of the risks associated with a large-scale military operation. The President asserted that the United States could defeat Tehran "easily" should a confrontation arise.
In response, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi warned that any military escalation against his country would not be confined to a single state, stressing that Tehran would stand firm against any "conspiracy" and defend itself.
Meanwhile, EU Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas warned of the danger of an "unlimited" theater of war between the U.S. and Iran.
These tensions coincide with the upcoming third round of negotiations between the U.S. and Iran, scheduled for next Thursday in Geneva. This round is described as the most critical to date. While reports indicate that Iran is working on a new proposal to be delivered via Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi, diplomatic sources told Israel Hayom they are skeptical that the proposal contains any substantive changes, casting doubt on a potential breakthrough.
